The Playground was set up in late 2009 as a platform for Janette to combine her passion for the creative sector and her knowledge of business practice and project management. Since then it has steadily grown into a company provides business nouse to the creative sector and creativity to all other sectors.

Janette began her career in film and television initially as a loud sound operator (which didn’t really work that well) and wisely moved quickly into the production office where she spent the next 15 years managing the full range of screen genres, production types, sizes and budgets, and being as vocal as she liked. At the same time she was working through a Business degree through Massey University, raising four mischievous boys and managing a small business. She’s taken all of that experience, added a dollop of the attitude – miracles I can do, the impossibly may take a day or two longer - and thrown it at the creative sector where she works with clients at the business end of their creative endeavours. She is The Playground's expert on Business and Brand Strategy, Marketing, Communications and Project Management. She is passionate about the creative sector in all its shapes and sizes, places high importance on working collaboratively with clients to achieve the best possible outcome, even if it means adjusting the boundaries to ensure the solutions are tailored perfectly for them, and above all believes the working relationship should be about fun as much as it is about the business.
